Surgical procedures such as a facelift, tummy tuck or mommy makeover will require more time for recovery than non-surgical options such as BOTOX, injections with dermal fillers or a chemical peel.

• How much time can I take off work to recover? Recovery for surgical procedures can be for a week or two, to a couple of months depending on the procedure.
• Do I have a support system that can stay with me for a day or two after surgery? If you are having a mommy makeover or a tummy tuck, you will need someone to drive you home, and stay with you for 24 to 48 hours to help you move around your home as needed.
• Do I want my results to be long-lasting? Surgical procedures are more invasive, but the results last longer.
• What is my budget? Most cosmetic procedures are not covered by health insurance. You will need to consider your budget when thinking about surgical options as they tend to be higher in cost than non-surgical procedures.
• Am I looking for a dramatic change or do I want a subtle change? Knowing your aesthetic goals is a good place to start when thinking about surgical vs. non-surgical options.
