How does ProFractional Laser work?

Profractional Therapy selectively treats the deeper layers of the skin without affecting the rest of the surface. What will happen during the procedure?

A topical anesthetic will be applied to the skin before treatment to make the procedure more comfortable. During treatment, we will clean your skin thoroughly, and safety shields will be placed over your eyes to protect them. A laser handpiece will be placed gently on the skin in this procedure. You will hear snapping sounds as the laser energy is applied. After the entire treatment area has been covered, the handpiece will be moved to adjacent locations. It usually takes between 15 and 30 minutes to complete the procedure.

What is the recovery process?

A pinpoint scabbing may occur during more extensive or combination therapies, including treating deep wrinkles and acne scars, but it resolves within 5-6 days. Patients are encouraged to wear sunscreen twice daily during the following months to promote optimum results.

When will I see the results?

Within a week, some people report tighter, fresher skin. Most people will notice a smoothing of wrinkles after the first month due to new collagen synthesis. Pitted acne scarring can take up to three months to resolve. ProFractional reshapes the skin permanently and should be repeated as necessary to achieve improved results.
