How does CoolSculpting Elite compare to liposuction?

While both CoolSculpting Elite and liposuction are methods of body contouring which allow you to trim and slim areas of your body with unsightly bulges and fatty deposits, that is where the similarities end. Liposuction is a surgical procedure to remove larger fat deposits with fat extraction, to achieve a shapelier body. It is achieved through tiny incisions through which the fatty deposits are extracted, and an appropriate treatment for some patients.

CoolSculpting Elite is a completely different process, using controlled cold applied to fatty areas, affecting only the fat cells, which your body will naturally shed in the weeks and months ahead. The treatment requires no anesthetic, no downtime, and no incisions. You may immediately return to your normal activities as soon as you leave our private aesthetic clinic.

What can I expect during CoolSculpting Elite in Portland?

Your CoolSculpting Elite procedure will be performed in the privacy and comfort of our Vancouver, Washington private clinic, where you can relax comfortably during your treatment. Once you’re settled, a cool gel will be applied to the treatment area. Then controlled cooling action combined with vacuum suction are applied using the CoolSculpting Elite applicator, freezing away a percentage of the fat cells in the area, typically about 20 percent. The CoolSculpting Elite applicator will be applied to the area you want to slim and trim with precision. A CoolSculpting Elite treatment can generally be completed in less than one hour. Multiple treatments may be desired to achieve an even more significant degree of fat reduction.

Is there any recovery needed following CoolSculpting Elite?

As there is no surgery associated with CoolSculpting Elite you may return to your usual activities as soon as your CoolSculpting Elite session has completed. You may experience slight burning, or stinging as the CoolSculpting Elite applicator is applied, and a tugging sensation, and be left with some numbness for a few hours following treatment. Additionally, some patients experience slight bruising, stinging, swelling, or tingling, which is temporary and quickly fades.

When will I notice results?

You need some patience to see the results of your CoolSculpting Elite session, as the body requires time to shed the fat cells affected by the treatment, with results appearing gradually. Within the first four weeks, you will begin to notice a thinning of the fat layer in the area treated. As your body sweeps away the dead, frozen fat cells they will be removed from your body for good. The final slimming effect is achieved at about three months following treatment.
