MicroLaser Peel

We develop dull, lackluster skin as we mature due to slow natural exfoliation. To reveal healthy new tissue, we must remove old damaged cells to regain our natural glowing skin. MicroLaser Peels are suitable for those who want more than a light chemical peel and don't have much time to heal.

What is a MicroLaser Peel?

An Erbium Laser Peel, or MicroLaser Peel, improves damaged skin's texture and youthful appearance by removing a thin layer—an alternative to full skin resurfacing and microdermabrasion/light chemical peels. Peeling is a great way to improve your complexion without requiring significant downtime. The Microlaser Peel is also known as the Weekend Peel. The Weekend Peel is an excellent option for people who have busy schedules! With the MLP treatment, you can remove the damaged superficial layer of skin and achieve a fresh, new appearance and feel.

How does a MicroLaser Peel work?

Using the MicroLaser Peel, a skinny layer of skin is removed by scanning the beam over the treatment area. In addition to removing the top layer of skin, you also remove some damaged cells that may leave the skin tired and aging. A fresh layer of cells grows over the treated area as the skin heals. It leads to healthier-looking, more even-colored skin and reduced wrinkles. Your skin will appear more vibrant after undergoing skin rejuvenation.

MicroLaser Peels can treat a variety of conditions like the following:

  • Mild wrinkles
  • Scars
  • Keratosis
  • Sun damage (i.e., freckles)
  • Pigment irregularities.

Popular treatment areas include the following:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • The chest
  • Hands

How many treatments will I require?

A single treatment can yield excellent results; however, the number of treatments needed will vary. A two- or three-month interval between treatments is the average number of treatments necessary to achieve patient goals. According to the size of the treatment area, it takes between 15 and 30 minutes.

Who is a good candidate for micro laser peeling?

A good candidate for micro laser peeling is in generally good health and has the following:

  • Realistic treatment goals and expectations
  • Fine to moderate facial lines and wrinkles
  • Skin with a rough texture
  • Skin surface discoloration
  • Mild scarring
  • Lackluster, dull skin

What is the recovery process?

To protect the skin following treatment, patients receive special ointments. While the skin heals, you can apply Aquaphor or Vaseline. In addition to moisturizing, you should apply lotion once the healing begins. Within 24 hours, you may experience minor sunburn symptoms, such as redness, scabbing, and itching. You’ll likely experience some swelling, which should resolve within 24 to 48 hours. Keep your head elevated until the swelling subsides.

Three to four days are required for healing after the MicroLaser Peel. Patient discomfort is minimal, and immediate results are visible. You should also expect results to improve for a few weeks following treatment. Approximately three visits over several months are recommended for optimal results. Compared to traditional microdermabrasion, patients can expect remarkable improvements in their skin's vibrancy, texture, and health following treatment.
